What is the best landscape design software?
I am a landscape designer, but I do hand drawn plans only. I am looking to invest in software. I work for a small but busy landscape company and I just don’t have the time to do it all by hand anymore.

Dynascape looks the most professional, and with Dynascape Color you can colorize a design very beautifully in a very few minutes. It is more costly than the rest, but you get what you pay for.

Would I need a landscape permit to install a new landscape design on a commercial property?
The construction company I am working with already has a permit to work on the property and all I am doing is beautifying the property by adding flowers, ornamental trees, planters and grass. I have to provide my bid and I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row. Does anyone have any info on this, or know where I could find info on this?

It depends upon the jurisdiction. Typically, if you aren’t moving earth and reshaping the landscape with berms, ponds, fences,etc., no permit is required.
Check the website of your town or county and see what you can find. My guess is that a permit is not necessary.

How much ground could get covered by (.5) cubic feet of river pebbles?
I have to do a project for my landscape design class and I need to use river rock. Does anyone know how much ground will be covered per bag of (.5) cubic feet of river rock? Thanks.

It depends on how deep you want the cover. If you want a 1 inch depth then, it will cover 6 square feet. If you want a 2 inch depth then, it will cover 3 square feet. A 3 inch depth will cover 2 square feet.
