My RES got in our pool, is that safe?!?
After 3 years Myrtle finally figured out how to escape from her outdoor baby pool and its enclosure! She immediately high-tailed it across the lawn and under the pool yard fence and deposited herself in our in-ground swimming pool. I saw her escape from where I was sitting on the porch and immediately ran out and fished her out with the skimmer net so she only swam around for maybe 2 minutes. My question is how harmful is swimming pool water for red eared sliders? She seems fine, this was 2 days ago, and she’s still active and eating and everything normal. I know the water quality in her tank is stablized and filtered so I worry that the pool water was too chlorinated. I haven’t been able to find anything in my books or anywhere about turtles being exposed to pool water so I’m curious.

I forgot to mention that when I got her out of the pool I took her isnide and rinsed her in the utility sink for awhile before I put her back in her tank.

She’s fine… Chlorinated water is not harmful to your RES or you. It will sting her eyes a littel, but no harm done. I recommend you redo her set-up so she cannot escape again. You were very fortunate that she found the pool. Losing a turtle due to escape is very frustrating. I have been there and know the feeling. Good luck.

Noisy Neighbor?
What do I do about a neighbor who is too loud when his guests are over? I moved into my house last year and love nearly everything about it but the neighbor next to me. Very frequently, about once a month, he has several guests over. He mostly entertains them on his back porch, which just has a screen enclosure. My bedroom is on the same side of his porch, so I can hear everything. I’ve been awakened at 1, 2, 3 am to the sound of shreeking laughter from women and just general noise. I tried ignoring this the first six or seven times this happened, despite the fact I was losing sleep, because he is a nice guy and people have a right to enjoy their homes. However, it is getting out of hand. It’s not like he has his guests leave at a reasonable time.
The first time I asked him to turn down the music, he did. I thought that would resolve it, but last night I had to go to his house & ask him to keep it down. This was at 3 am. I am getting really pissed. What should I do?

Ok everyone does have the right to do what the will in their own house and yard, however if whatever they are going is interfering with your life and what goes on in your house it impedes on your rights. I would try talking to him again and if that doesn’t solve anything then just start calling the police because it is a noise violation.

Can you house these two species of tree frogs in the same terrarium?
I know as a general rule of thumb you should avoid housing different species of herps in the same enclosure…..however, due to the flexibility of the White’s Tree Frog I was wondering if I could add a Red Eyed Tree Frog into a 20 gallon tall tank that I currently have one sub-adult White’s Tree Frog in. I’ve had my White’s for about 12 or 13 months now and he is a very healthy young male. The only difference I would make is the humidity would be increased if I were to introduce the RETF but that will likely be a welcomed change for the White’s. My White’s is about 2 1/2″ right now and the RETF would be around 2″.
The tank has a thick branch that utilizes the entire width and height of the tank with fake leaves stretching across the top of the tank and wrapping around the branch. There would be two hide huts for separation if need be. Also, there would be one large water bowl big enough for both frogs to be in it at the same time. Daytime temperature would be from 80-85F and nighttime temperature would be from 75-78F. I do have a UTH which will be used in the fall and winter but as of the spring and summer I have my Herps on my enclosed porch in the heat and humidity of central Florida.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Well whites usually get pretty big and eventully could eat the smaller one.. But if you want to try make sure theres lots of leaves and when you cant find the smaller one look for it so you know its still there. Also when you introduce them watch them for awhile cause it doesnt take long to eat it. Hope this helps and good luck. Oh also make sure there both getting food at feeding time

How many years will i Have in prison for this? I’m scared.?
Ok, so here is the deal: I have committed crimes and am under house arrest until I go to court. I want to know how many years I can face in prison for them.
My crimes are:
Taking a dump on a guys porch that’s about 3 blocks away from me for the past month (He has it all on video)
Throwing my feces at 7 different children in the park.
Managing to escape from an officer.
Running back to the officers car and smearing my feces all over the his windshield and trying to escape but failed this time.
Taking a dump behind the counter at abrys and stealing 4 boxes full of ketchup and pushing over all the trash cans until I was fired.
Taking a dump in walmart behind the shelves where they sell toothpaste, deo, etc.
Taking another dump in arbys while I went there to get a b-fast wrap right in the dooray (no one could see me though except the cameras)
Stealing fish food from petsmart to feed my 7 pet angelfish
stealing 7 angelfish from a local petshop
Taking a dump during the after hours in a goldfish tank and peeing in the fire bellied toads enclosure at petsmart.
Pushing over an entire store shelf and the manager when he tried to fire me from petsmart.
Broke open the claw machine and stole all the stuffed animals.
Took a dump in the claw machine the next day because it still wasn’t fixed. ( they still hadn’t checked the cameras to see who broke the claw machine)
Took a dump in my neighbors unlocked car (three times)
Took a dump in the cops car while he drove me back to my house and peed on him while he carried me back to my house.
Thats all the crimes I’ve committed and I don’t wanna go to jail! How many years will I have !? PLEASE HELP! How would I get out of the most jail time!

Trespassing on Private property, destruction of private property, assault, assault causing bodily harm, fleeing, destruction of private property to an officers vehicle or it could count as vandalism.
Theft, mischief, mischief, theft, theft, mischief, destruction of private property and assault, mischief and theft, destruction of private property, and I’m going to stop there.
Your looking at more then 5 years because it doesn’t seem like you’ll stop, the judge will have no pity, especially because you have done this to an officer of the law, so they’ll take you to the full extent of the law. Looking at… 10 years?
If they can prove all of it, your in a deep shi*hole, but I guess you shat yourself into it. HAHA.

Among other things you will be turned over to a mental hospital first to determine your sanity. Tested for drug abuse. Your lawyer will answer the questions about jail time. If you didn’t want to go to jail then why in the world did you do all that? At the very least you need to be in a mental hospital. You are a danger to yourself and everyone around you.
