I think a big, comfy sectional would fit nicely in your living room. Something like this: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S19856187
Maybe try pairing it with a nice modern-looking coffee table with a bit of an antique twist to it in a brushed silver color.
If you’re going to keep that painting in there as well, pick a color out of it to be your accent color. Maybe teal blue throw pillows and throw rug.
As for your patio, just look for a nice set. I recommend sitting on a LOT of them to make sure they’re comfortable and you can’t feel the bars beneath you. Opt for really squishy cushions and inivest in a nice, large box to store them in when you’re not using them. Keeps them from getting wrecked in the rain/snow.
Maybe something like the one in the picture beside where it says “Browse Products”: http://www.oakvillehomeleisure.ca/patio.aspx
You can get free-standing umbrellas, too (which I think look pretty cool) like this: http://www.oakvillehomeleisure.ca/product/118.aspx
Just a start, but that’s what I’d probably do.

I would suggest painting the walls a light creamy peach color or a very soft aquamarine, something calming. Expresso brown, cream, and soft pastels all look nice with these colors. Go on www.potterybarn.com to find some lovely sofas that would look amazing with aqua or creamy peach. They also have nice accessories for your home on their website. Make sure your living room is a place that your whole family can enjoy comfortably. Purchase some cheery artwork that compliments the colors you end up using. Also, for a finishing touch to your living room, try adding a Febreeze flame-less luminary candle that you can find at your local grocery store. You pick out your color scheme and scent, and place it on a table. They are inexpensive and they give off a wonderful scent to add the finishing touch to a relaxing living room. (plus they take away the fresh paint scent!) As for the patio furniture, I suggest googling patio furniture in Vancouver. I hope this helps! Good luck!

How do I inexpensively print my own 3.5 by 5 (or similar sized) card deck?
PLEASE DON’T RESPOND UNLESS YOU READ THE *WHOLE QUESTION.* THANK YOU.
(Sorry, I’ve posted so many questions on yahoo answers and people respond with things you’ve already stated because they don’t read the whole thing.)
Ok here’s the scoop. I want to make my own oracle card deck. I’ve already done all the designs in photoshop, I’m thinking 3.5 by 5 would be ideal but I can work with the size if say only 4 x 6 is available or such but no bigger than that. I’ve got about 60 cards, but I may add some or take some out. Here’s the problem, there’s no place that prints double sided cards with your own designs on them, and certainly not with each card having it’s own individual design. So I thought, ok, I can get creative with this. Maybe I can find a place that prints photo cards (you know, the kind you send to family on christmas) or small flyers, and then use that printing service. The only problem is, most of them have a 10 print minimum – for the SAME design. I don’t need ten of one design, I need 60 cards each with their own unique design. I can’t find any services that will do this. I thought, maybe I could just get them printed at kinko’s and cut them out myself and have them laminated – but lamination costs are ridiculous.
So here’s the question. Does anyone know of any online printing services that will print ONE card with one unique design instead of a minimum order of ten, that preferably costs less than a buck apiece? Or a place to get things laminated CHEAPLY?? Or any other ideas for how to go about making these cards??
Thank you!!!

Boy are you in luck. Over on Aeclectic Tarot there was someone posting about a new business that focuses on making game cards for board games, who ALSO has the capability of doing tarot decks and oracle decks at a fraction of the cost of most printers AND the cards are on proper type of paper for it too–there is no minimum order required and the only hinderance they have at this point is that their cards only come in one size.
A standard tarot deck (even one deck) would cost you $6.60 With fewer cards it’d be even cheaper.
Here’s their website.
Go to the gamecrafter site, hit ‘publish’ and then ‘cost estimator’ and see what your deck comes up for. These will be cards that feel like the standard playing cards/tarot cards. The site is extremely interesting and I’ve bookmarked it for when I get my tarot deck finished. I’d considered going with Carta Mundi (they have a Tennessee office) but their minimum order run is 2,000 decks. This place sounds better. They just started in July of 2009 so are pretty new. I emailed them with some questions and they got right back to me very quickly.
If you want to see the discussion over on Aeclectic about it, here’s the url — http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=127871

Need advice – shopping for unique card decks (poker) online.?
Hi. I’m trying to get a good, interesting poker deck as a holiday gift. Now, I’ve been to a bunch of sites, and seen a bunch of unusual decks. But I’m looking for something that is still somewhat professional/casino like…. but varies on the face side.
Here is a screencap (Ocean’s 13) of a deck that is up to par.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/65545920@N00/2071542127/
The back isn’t too important. the plainer, the better. It’s about the card front. I love the different font. I love that they invert the color/white areas on the pips, yet it’s still easy to read. I love that there are no stupid photos on the cards.
If I could find this deck, that would be the best.
If I could find decks sort of like this, that have an interesting face design, that would also be great.
But most of the sites I’ve found don’t even have photos of the face. Most sites only have photos of the back. So if anyone even knows of sites where most photos of the cards include front side, it’d be a huge help.

Check out some of the decks from ellusionist.com. They are made for magicians, but some may be just what you’re looking for.

Michael asks…
Found this Muslim religious thing, can anyone tell me what it is?
Pic link below.
It’s about the length and width of a deck of cards, but the thickness is about 3 decks stacked. The English text reads “Looh E Qurani”. The box is made of thick clear plastic, with the bottom side painted silver so that the floor of the box is a mirror.
I googled the text and found lots of mentions, and photos of similar designs, but no good explanations.
http://tinypic.com/r/5bxwl3/7
While installing cameras in an elevator we found one of these things sitting on top of the elevator ceiling tile. Seemed like it was deliberately placed there. The tenants are primarily middle eastern. I thought this might be some kind of religious good-luck thing to uh… protect the elevator?
Seriously lots of religions have stuff like that so I’m just curious.
Thanks.

Suntan answers:
So, I sent a text to my friend whose family is Muslim, and she said her parents place “Lohe e qurani” in their home and that anyone who looks on it will have good fortune and a happy day. She also added that she thought it was cultural, and not really religious — like the hamsa for jews or muslims. Kind of a superstitious thing that people of the religion might do, but not a religious thing per se.
She said her mom used to say “look on it, but don’t think about it.” I don’t know what that means, but there you go.
